and the robotic telescope which is a new function of the 60cm telescope.

I discussed with Dr. Masatoshi Fujii, mathematics education professor of Osaka Kyoiku University, Japan,
and Dr. Dong-hyun Char, science education professor of Jeonju National University of Education, Korea.
I was invited this seminar by professor Kwang-Woong Bae, profossor of Osaka Kyoiku University.

The renewal work of the 60cm telescope of the astronmoical observatory atop the building of
Faculty of Education, Wakayama Univeristy was made;
the telescope is now computer-controled and has the remote control fuction.
The renewal work was made by a group of companies;
NTT facilities, Chuo Opt, Eye Bell, Skygrove, and Geshiro-Gumi Machinery Manufacturing.

came to the astronomical observatory of Faculty of Education, Wakayama University,
and enjoyed seeing the big instruments, though it was rainy outside.

Ms. Yoko Sakaguchi, the Kansai International Airport station operations manager of
United Airlines,
gave us a wonderful talk about her dynamic career and appealed young students.
She also gave students useful knacks to enter airline world.

welcomed 29 pupils of Attached Elementary School, Faculty of Education, Wakayama University.
It was around 2 pm, so pupils enjoyed looking at 60 cm mirror of the reflector.

I and three of my graduate students (Ota Sho-kun, Sakaihara Shutaro-kun, Miyasaki Keiji-kun)
stayed at Kiso Observatory,
Institute of Astronomy,
University of Tokyo, Nagano Prefecture,
for student's observation practice.
We observed with
Dr. Tomohiko Yamagata and his students of Bunkyo University
and Dr. Nobunari Itoh and his students of Mie University.
Dr. Itoh prepared the observation subjects and Dr. Yamagata prepared the excursion after the observations.

I started my talk entitled "Feel the universe just in the center of Osaka City,"
but my talk went from Hayabusa mission to astronomy-astrology relation and
astronomy-religion relation, answering questions by
about 10 participants, male and female, from 20's to 50's (I guess).

The speaker was Mr. Shin-ya Narusawa of Nishi-Harima Astronomical Observatory, Hyogo Prefecture,
and theme was `Frontier of SETI -- from a site of on-going project of SETI.'

"Astronomy at Temple", a discussion at a temple about our view of universe and life,
with astonomers, Buddhist priests, and many other peple, the 6th meeting
was held at Yakushi-In, Kishiwada City, Osaka Prefecture.
I talked about how to feel the hierarchical structure of the universe,
not by using special devices such as big telescopes and computers,
but by just looking up the sky and seeing the stars and thinking.
The priests explains their views of the universe and life,
and we all have discussed for hours.

Though we can not see the Milky Way,
even from the center of Osaka City,
we can pick out down to 3rd-magnitude stars and trace some constellations.
