  • Research project Surface modification from diamond like carbon (DLC) to nano diamond by femtosecond laser illumination has been financially supported by JKA.
  • Research artitcle entitled Optical film-thinning of few-layer graphene epitaxially grown on 4H-SiC(0001) surface : Robustness of monolayer-graphene against the photoexcitation with Prof. Kanasaki is published in Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter.

    Two researches have been presented in Excon 2018, Nara, Japan.(12.07.2018)

    I was invited in International Symposium on Intrinsic Localized Modes: 30th anniversary of discovery as a speaker and made presentation entitled How Intrinsic Localized Modes were Produced: A Personal Recollection.(26.01.2018)

    It is my pleasure to announce following two news:

    1. Mr. Tatsuya MINAMINO will join SONY corporation as an engineerfrom next April(1st April 2017).
    2. Mr. Minamino, on behalf of the research team (Dr. Murakami, Prof. Itoh, and myself) made a presentation in an international conference (29th International Microprocesses and Nanotechnology Conference, MNC 2016 for short).

    As for 1, he has overcome many obstacles to be an engineer in a company. As far as I know, he is the first student to join SONY from Wakayama University. To congratulate him on joining the electronics company, I write this message. As the supervisor, I thank SONY for addmitting him to join.

    Other news:

    Our article entitled Origin of a Raman scattering peak generated in single-walled carbon nanotubes by X-ray irradiation and subsequent thermal annealinghas been published on-line (August 2016).

    As an active research scientist in nanoscience and nanotechnology, I would like to announce that our paper about doped graphenes are accepted for publication in Japanese Journal of Applied Physics.(November 2015)
