授業の概要・ねらい
/Course Aims
Digital transformation (DX) is reshaping the tourism industry worldwide. Governments and businesses are adopting new technologies to improve destination management, enhance visitor experiences, and stay competitive. In Japan, destination DX is a key priority in national tourism policy, emphasizing the use of digital tools such as artificial intelligence, big data, and smart tourism applications.

Therefore, this subject aims to provide students with foundational introductory understanding on Destination DX.  Through case studies from Japan and other countries, students will explore the benefits, challenges, and practical applications of digitalisation in tourism. Interactive discussions will encourage critical thinking and help students develop insights into the future of digital tourism.

/Course Objectives
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. Understand the core concepts of digital transformation in tourism.
2. Analyse the importance, benefits and challenges of digitalisation in tourism.
3. Gain an awareness of the different digital tools used in destination DX, both in Japan and globally.
4. Strengthen English communication skills through discussions.
