授業の概要・ねらい ／Course Aims |
This course, in connection with Cultural Research A, explores ethnic and minority cultures and their relationship with tourism. The course aims to foster critical thinking about cultural preservation, identity, and the role of tourism in shaping perceptions of ethnic and minority groups. |

到達目標 ／Course Objectives |
Through lectures, participation in a tour, and visits to ethnic and minority communities that have been commercialized as tourist destinations, students will gain a deeper understanding of cultural representation, tourism dynamics, and the impact of commercialization on these communities. |

成績評価の方法・基準 ／Grading Policies/Criteria |
Students will be evaluated based on: (1) participation in group discussion (30%); (2) participation in field research (40%): & (3) report based on field research (30%). |

This course will be conducted in English. Students are required to participate in discussions and write report in English. Students are required to participate in the study tour (tour fees: 3000 yen per person). |

According to the course plan, the students need to spend at least one hour in preparing for, and one hour in reviewing, the lecture each week. The students are also required to do assignments, read literature and research on issues related to the topics of each lecture. |

Lectures will be conducted on September 1-2, 5, and field research and after discussions will be held on September 6. The course description may be modified depending on the class size. |
