授業の概要・ねらい
/Course Aims
Critical Tourism Studies introduces students to broader theoretical and socio-cultural perspectives within tourism scholarship, positioning industry and management as one sub-field rather than the central focus. The course aims to cultivate students’ ability to think critically about tourists, tourism cultures, and the social, political, and economic contexts in which tourism operates.

Through engagement with key debates in critical tourism scholarship, students will examine issues such as power, representation, identity, sustainability, and globalization. Students will also reflect on the relevance of critical tourism studies to their own future roles and responsibilities within tourism-related fields.
