授業の概要・ねらい /Course Aims |
Cultural and lifestyle differences are currently the important sources of tourist attractions. This topic looks at how these differences are utilised as tourist attractions by exploring community perceptions and visitor experiences. It also discusses the roles of governments and policy makers in such tourism development. |

到達目標 /Course Objectives |
By the end of the course, students are required to understand: (1) the characteristics of commodification of ethnic and minority cultures and lifestyles in the tourism context; and (2) the roles of governments and policy makers in developing ethnic and minority tourism. |

Students will be evaluated based on: (1) participation in group discussion (40%) (2) presentation (60%) |

According to the course plan, the students need to spend at least one hour in preparing for, and one hour in reviewing, the lecture each week. The students are also required to do assignments, read literature and research on issues related to the topics of each lecture. |
