授業の概要・ねらい
/Course Aims
This course offers consultation and discussion sessions for students to complete a dissertation for their graduation.
A dissertation must be written in English language.
Each course instructor will give students advice from the view of their expertise to let them conduct own research by themselves.

GS Ⅱ requires students to attend additional sessions for sophisticating their academic English skill.

/Grading Policies/Criteria
For the seminar, the instructor totally assesses attitude, participation in discussion, essay writing and other elements in the seminar.
In addition, evaluation includes outcomes and attitude in the additional sessions for academic English.

/Notice for Students
The Global Seminar Ⅱrequires you to make some presentations which show your research progress and outcomes in English.
Official presentations will be held in October and in February. The schedule might be changed.
履修する上で必要な事項
/Prerequisite
This is a part of GP(NOT GP2.0).
Students must take academic English sessions as well as each seminar.  
Use PC.

授業時間外学修についての指示
/Instructions for studying outside class hours
Take enough time to complete both assignments; specialized field tasks and academic additional sessions' tasks in order to complete the dissertation.
It will take two hours each week for pre and post seminars. In addition, you need to do self-learning for academic English.

1 1 GuidanceⅠ Introduction to the Seminar, how the learning activities are conducted This is the outline. Please check with your supervisor for details.
2 2~15 Study on specific topics. Building on what students have learnt through GS I, each student decides a theme they want to explore, and considers how to approach that theme.
Students review texts and related literature on the theme, discuss issues they wish to pursue and deepen their understanding.
Students delve deeper into the research theme through fieldwork and analysis of documents. Specific activities will be presented by your supervisor.
3 16 GuidanceⅡ Introduction to the Seminar, how the learning activities are conducted during the second term.
4 17~29 Study to deepen understanding of specific topics Based on their specialist knowledge, they carry out research and analyse materials to delve into research topics.
In relation to the theme, students may also plan and implement projects and events, and make presentations in idea competitions.
Student presentations may also be given at conferences.
5 30 Wrap up Summarise what has been learnt throughout the year and review the output.
