授業の概要・ねらい
/Course Aims
Under the course instructor's recommendation and advice, students learn how to seek for and to investigate a research question which you are interested in through this seminar.

Students are required;
to obtain basic and specialized knowledge they wish to seek for through literature review and field survey
to present its outcomes and discuss in the seminar.
to conduct project-based learning such as planning event and its coordination.

In addition, GS Ⅰ requires students to improve academic English for making dissertation.

To obtain basic knowledge in the specialized field students wish to seek for
To learn necessary research methods for the specialized field and individual research question
To obtain how to present their own ideas to tourism phenomena and sophisticate it
To obtain academic skill for writing dissertation in English as well as improving general English proficiency.

/Grading Policies/Criteria
For the seminar, the instructor totally assesses attitude, participation in discussion, essay writing and other elements in the seminar.
In addition, evaluation includes outcomes and attitude in the academic English sessions.

/Instructions for studying outside class hours
Take enough time to complete both assignments; specialized field tasks and academic English sessions' tasks.
It will take two hours each week for pre and post seminars. In addition, you need to do self-learning for academic English.

1 1 Guidance Ⅰ Introduction to the Seminar, how the learning activities are conducted This is the outline. Please check with your supervisor for details.
2 2~15 Study on specific topics To acquire specialist knowledge, students review texts and relevant literature specified by their supervisor, discuss topics and deepen their understanding.
Through fieldwork and analysis of documents on the topic, you will apply your knowledge and learn something new. Specific activities will be presented by your supervisor.
3 16 Guidance Ⅱ Reflect on the activities during the summer break and review the learning objectives for the second half of the seminar.
4 17~29 Study to deepen understanding of specific topics Students will further deepen their understanding of specialist knowledge and produce outputs in the form of papers, reports and presentations.
Students may also plan and implement projects and events, and to make presentations in idea competitions and other events.
5 30 Wrap up Summarise what has been learnt throughout the year and link it to the GS II.
