授業の概要・ねらい
/Course Aims
The tourism industry is constantly transforming due to the various factors such as technological changes, socio-cultural shifts and environmental challenges. This course aims to provide students with a broad, yet global overview of the various critical issues occurring within the tourism sector. Through an exploration of topics such as technology, innovation, intercultural communication, sustainability, and niche tourism, students will gain deeper insights into the challenges and opportunities within the industry.

The course is designed to foster a global mindset, encouraging students to think beyond their local context and understand tourism as an interconnected system influenced by diverse economic, social, and environmental forces. To support students’ learning, key experts in the topic area may be invited to share their insights through an online guest lecture. Guest speakers include Dr Isabel Rodriguez (University of Surrey, UK), Dr Gloria Crabolu (University of Exeter, UK) and Dr Ireena Ibnu (Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia).
