授業の概要・ねらい
/Course Aims
This course explores the representational potential of strategic frameworks of cultural diplomacy at the intersections of the public and the private. We will focus on a number of particular formats from the World Fairs to Education and Cultural Exchange to the travel of animals, plants, and minerals, in an attempt to identify patterns of representing the world. We will be looking into instances when involvement and participation in such frameworks stimulates reflections on authenticity and manipulation, as well as on power imbalances.
