授業の概要・ねらい
/Course Aims
This topic provides students with an introduction to cultural tourism. The lectures will explore heritage, museums, arts, video games, and indigenous, ethnic, and experiential cultural tourism in both urban and rural environments. We will also examine cases where political regimes are used as tourist attractions and explore strategies for achieving sustainable cultural tourism.

/Course Objectives
Students are required to critically examine the characteristics and nature of cultural tourism from socio-cultural and political perspectives.

/Grading Policies/Criteria
Students will be evaluated based on:
(1) participation in group discussion and assignments during the lectures (20%)
(2) assignments to be reviewed and discussed in the lectures no. 7 and 15 (80%)

Students are expected to actively participate in group discussion in English during the lecture and submit assignments.

/Instructions for studying outside class hours
According to the course plan, the students need to spend at least one hour in preparing for, and one hour in reviewing the lecture each week. The students are also required to do assignments, and read literature and research on issues related to the topics of each lecture. Information in this course will be provided based on: Smith (2015). It is advised that students read this book.
