/Course Aims
In this course, we will discuss "Local/Rural" by means of the power of films. For example, a documentary film speaks more than literal words. In this lecture we traces Japanese cinema's history and see the background of documentary films. For the purpose, we would see several local cinemas and documentaries, and study how they could
contain the own social and cultural factors.

Film directors pursuit their social and artistic theme by means of films. We would read their words and discuss about them.
By means of the discussion, we would learn the process in visualization the concepts
