授業の概要・ねらい
/Course Aims
This course aims to help Global Program (GP) students improve their academic English and to promote the cohesion of the GP community through the course activities.

"English Lab Ⅱ" consists of in-class activities such as discussion, presentation, and event organization.

Students will actively use English in discussions and presentations which will include the opportunities to reinforce their knowledge and understanding from previous GP courses and to communicate their thoughts and ideas. Students are also expected to participate in the event organization team and to find greater meaning in contributing to the GP community.

/Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Understand the principles of presentation and design academic research presentation
2. Perform with confidence in giving a presentation/discussion in English on a topic related to tourism
3. Explain the importance and significance of contributing to the GP community
成績評価の方法・基準
/Grading Policies/Criteria
Student’s overall grade in the class will be determined by the followings:
Participation in the class activities (40%)
Submission of the assignments on time (35%)
Performance in the presentations (25%)

1. This is a Global Program course; as such, all instruction will be conducted in English. All students are expected to attend all classes, participate actively, and communicate in English. Students should contact their instructor immediately prior to class if they are unable to attend class for any reason.

2. All official course communication will take place through student’s university email account and the Microsoft Teams. Please check the university email and Teams for this course daily throughout the course.

3. Students must contact the instructor immediately if they are having difficulty with the course.

/Instructions for studying outside class hours
Only the course activities inside the class hours are eligible for evaluation. However, preparation for participation in class activities is expected to occur outside of class. Students must submit substantial assignments in the event of absence.
