授業の概要・ねらい /Course Aims |
The tourism industry brings together people from diverse cultural backgrounds, making cross-cultural understanding an essential skill for those interested in engaging in tourism. This Project Activity is designed to enhance students’ awareness of cross-cultural differences and communication. Students will read the book, "The Culture Map: Breaking Through the Invisible Boundaries of Global Business" by Erin Meyer. Learning will be interactive and engaging, incorporating Lego Serious Play, group discussions, and presentation practice. The course is structured to foster interactivity, creativity, and critical thinking, helping students build confidence and awareness in cross-cultural communication. |

By the end of this course, students will be able to: • Read and comprehend English-language materials on cross-cultural communication. • Develop greater awareness of cultural differences and their impact on communication. • Demonstrate an understanding of cross-cultural perspectives from around the world. • Communicate with more confidence in English. |

For successful completion of this course, students must complete the activities listed below. Weights indicate the contribution of each activity to the final grade. Details of each activity will be provided in class. 1. Reading and participation - 30% 2. Short reflective essay - 30% 3. Presentation - 40% |
