授業の概要・ねらい
/Course Aims
International financial markets play the important economic role of channelling savings toward productive investments in order to facilitate the smoothing of consumption by households and capital-expenditure by firms. The efficient allocation of resources in a dynamic economy is affected by the flow of economic information, and the important forces of financial globalization and financial innovation. The examination of complex issues related to the structure and functioning of international financial markets as well as asset pricing aids in understanding the trade-off between risk and return, market efficiency, and the onset of international financial and credit crises. Theoretical issues are considered in light of current developments in financial markets and on the basis of analytical evidence. To gain a better knowledge of international financial markets, students are required to understand the essential theoretical aspects before performing the empirical analysis based on financial and economic databases. Thus, the first part of the series “International Financial Markets A” focuses on specialized theoretical knowledge and critical thinking skills needed for firm valuation, asset pricing and investment decisions.
