授業の概要・ねらい
/Course Aims
This course is intended to introduce students the basic methodologies of data collection and analyses on international trade. Based on mainly descriptive statistics and simple regression analysis using trade and macroeconomic data, students will learn the features of international trade flows, the effects of various trade policies on trade in goods and services, and the effects of international trade on macro-economy. Each session will deals with theoretical background of international trade and methods of data processing and analysis by using statistical data from various international organization such as the World Bank, and the United Nations in spreadsheet software. The goal of this course is to gain better understanding of approach of modern international economics based on theory and empirical evidence.

/Course Objectives
The goal of this course is to make it possible to learn the basic methodology of empirical analysis on international trade, as well as understanding of the current situations of international economy through various statistics.

Assignments (60%) + Group presentation & discussion (40%)

P. Krugman, M. Obstfeld, M. Melitz (2017) "International Economics: Theory and Policy" Pearson Education Limited. Further books for reference will be introduced in the course.
